MY LIBRARY 

 Library is considered as the heart of the school. It is a place where students, staff have access to a variety of educational resources. It provides information and ideas that are fundamental for functioning successfully in today's information and knowledge based society. The goal of establishing Library is to ensure that all members of the school community have equal access to books and other sources of  information technology which develops the habit of reading among students. The Army Public School , Bathinda   has a spacious and well stocked  with wide collection of  books  i .e  18881 & CD’s on variety of subjects covering all age groups and interests including all latest books related to competitive exams . The library is also equipped with facilities like internet, dish T.V. and Webcam. Library also subscribes  44 magazines like Children World Education Today, The Week , India Today , Competition Success Review , Gk Today, Tell Me Why  etc. and 13 national dailies.

Accessible: The library is open for all school staff & students on all working days during school hours  .

Circulation Services:For Staff: Each staff member is allowed to borrow 5 books maximum at a time for one month.

For Students: Each student is allowed to borrow  one book at a time for 07 days.

Open Access System: The library follows an Open Access System. The books are classified and shelved according to the DDC.

E-Library: Computers with Internet facility are available in the library for students to search the documents online and have accessibility to e-books.  TV is kept to see the latest updates.To facilitate the effective use of books ,the School Library has started computerisation with the Library Management Software – E Granthalaya .The software provides facilities for catalogue search, circulation of books and magazines, reservation of books, reports, , Reports on the books issued, reservation status, search book by member and accession number, book suggestion and selection, OPAC , Digital Collection  for APS  Library  are available

1.      STUDENTS OF CLASSS VI ONWORDS  CAN ISSUE  THE LIBRARY BOOK WITH THEIR LIBRARY CARD FROM LIBRARY  

2.      THE BOOK MAY BE RETAINED BY A BORROWER FOR A PERIOD OF 7 DAY AFTER WHICH THEY MUST BE RETURNED OR GET IT REISSUED OTHERWISE NOT DEMANDED.

3.      THERE ARE CERTAIN RULES FOR LIBRARY WHICH ARE WRITTEN DOWN THEIR STUDENT DIARY  . EVERY STUDENTS SHOULD FOLLOW THAT RULES .

For Effective management and utilization of the library resources in an School Library requires incorporation of modern technologies as the Librarian  has to do all the tasks in the library. This always causes delays in assisting the students to get the information they require as well as circulation of books to maximum number students in library periods allotted to the classes. To facilitate the effective use of books the School Library has started computerization with the Library Management Software developed by NIC Egranthalya 4.0 .
